Our Busy Schedules & Our Grandmothers

If you haven’t already noticed, there’s new student writing posted in the hallway at 175 Eldridge. We have evening teacher Evelyn’s E1 class writing about their weekly routines, and we have Jon’s 4A class writing about their grandmothers and mothers. Next time you have a break or before class or after class, hang out in the hallway and read your fellow students’ writing!

Here is a sample from E1 student Bronishlaw Fuczynski.  After you read his story, take the quiz to test your reading comprehension and memory:

My Busy Week

by Bronishlaw Fuczynski

During the week, my days are very busy. I wake up at 5:00 AM in the morning, take a shower and get dressed. Each day I make breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea. I drive to work. I work from 6:00 AM to 2:30PM. I take a coffee break at 9:00 AM. At 12:00 PM I eat lunch and at 2:30 PM I leave work and go home.

I have free time from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. I take a shower, play games, watch TV, do homework, cook dinner, clean the house, do laundry and have dinner. At 5:30 PM I drive to school. From 6:30- 9:00PM, I am a student in English class. At 9:30 PM I get home and I eat a nice snack, drink good beer, and watch TV. I watch English news and do exercise on my special machine. Then, I go to the bathroom and take a shower. Before 11:00 PM I go to bed and sleep.

Five days of the week I am very busy. On the weekends I am more relaxed and I go to the market with my family. Every Sunday my whole family goes bike riding at Prospect Park.
