Language Learning is Like Exercise
It’s easy to get excited about taking a break from school, but remember, language learning is like exercise.
If you don’t use it, you lose it.
This means that if you don’t practice using your English, you will probably forget it. In order to avoid this, you must practice.
Here are three tips to keep up with your English over the summer!
- Listen to Youtube videos about English grammar as you get ready for the day. You don’t need to understand everything on the first try. Just listen to them over and over again as you do simple tasks such as brushing your teeth or getting dressed.

- Chat with a friend from your English class 2-3 times a week! If you’re too busy for a phone call, text your friend in English- or do both!

- Pay attention to advertisements and billboards that you see around your neighborhood and on the train! This will help you feel more connected to your environment and reinforce your new vocabulary.
