Recently our Culture Club students took a trip to the Houston Street Center to view the Creative Center’s Got Art! exhibit. We had an art-focused workshop led by Creative Center Director Robin Glazer. She introduced us to basic art vocabulary. We learn to start connecting with art and developing our taste for art. We even got to take a work of art home with us!

Next Monday, 1/20/2020 Campos Plaza Community Center will be hosting a community resource fair. Offering: 💉Flu Shots 👩‍⚕️Health Classes 👨‍🍳🥧🍳Cooking Demos 💃💃🕺Dance and Zumba Classes

Welcome back to class, students! Here we are again with the first idiom of 2020. Can you guess what it is? 👣 • • • • • • • • • • • • The Idiom of the Week is... Start Off on the Right Foot 🦶 Meaning: To begin something in a good way; to start well. We finally broke our own school rule - take out your cell phones to play a game of Kahoot! The winning team gets bragging rights and is first in line to eat. That's how we celebrate the holidays!

In November we restarted Culture Club, which now meets four days a week and has a new teacher, Wendy. So far they have studied the subway system, idioms, holidays, culture shock, and small talk. Here is a photo of our Culture Club students in a vintage train car at the New York Transit Museum.
