Meaning: To get married.

Examples:

Former University Settlement English teacher Rob tied the knot last winter. (See above.)

“You two have been dating for a long time – when are you going to tie the knot?”

My parents tied the knot in 1968. It’s their anniversary next week.

The correct answer is B. Most people get engaged, then they get married (remember, “get married” means “tie the knot“). But sometimes they get engaged again after they get married and tie the knot again!
