Have you ever felt nervous when you had to pay for things in cash while travelling in a foreign country or when you first arrived in the USA because you were not familiar with the currency there, or have you ever wondered about the people, animals, or things on bills and coins? To learn about the U.S. currency, Our 1B, 1C, 2A, and 2P students participated in the workshops presented by the Chinese Progressive Association.
Our new partner, Hot Bread Kitchen visited our school to give workshops to our College and Career Readiness Classes students. The students learned about how to write a resume, especially what the purpose and use of resumes are, how to create a resume that shows experiences and skills, and what should and should not be on resumes. Our students were very engaged and impressive according to the presenter!
On Monday, November 15th, classes 3A and 3P (daytime) were treated to a workshop on the three branches of government presented by the Chinese Progressive Association. Our language learners always get more than just an education of English. Our program also provides regular workshops, such as this one, on topics related to the community and American culture as these are relevant to students’ lives.
