Thank you to our District Council Member @chrismartenyc @nycdistrict1 for visiting our program this morning and talking with our 3P students about how our free English classes are helping them improve their lives in NYC. Time for fun-filled weekend at the ROAR Festival!!💃💃🏻💃🏽💃🏾💃🏿 New on the blog: ¡Que Bonita Bandera! What a beautiful flag! Guess what is being celebrated at the parade coming up this Sunday, 6/12, after a 2 year pause for COVID! Read more by clicking the link in our bio @usadultliteracy or our blog at www.usadultliteracy.com Our DYCD students in 0A, 0P, 1A & 1P also learned self-defense from @aafenyc this week. Enjoy some pictures and video from the workshop 📸 It's Memorial Day weekend. Just a reminder that we won't have any classes today and tomorrow. See you on Tuesday! Thank you to @thealliance_nyc for visiting our program this week and helping our students to enroll in NY State of Health and NYC Care Programs and access health care. NEW on our blog: May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. @aafenyc came back this week to teach self-defense to our E2, E3, E4, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2P & Culture Club students. Enjoy some pictures and video! Thank you to instructor @kitnyc11 👏👏 Workforce Readiness workshop series with #Workforce1 for our 3A, 3P, CCR-A, & CCR-P classes just kicked off this Monday with learning in person how to access Workforce 1 Career Center, and virtually how to conduct a job search the next day. On Wednesday, the students had fun learning how to protect themselves in self-defense workshops with our new partner, @aafenyc. We hope the workshops helped the students prepare to find a good job and to stay safe.
