We took the class pictures of the students and the teachers of our school year of 2023-24! We are going to learn English together for almost one year. Let’s roll, fam!

WEEKEND

Our Weekend W2 & W3 and Evening E3 & E4 students learned about how to make a family budget with Jason and Ryan from Chase Bank. Our Daytime 3A, 3P, CCR-A, and CCR-P students will learn about it with Wendy from the same bank next week.

Our W1 students learned English by playing board games. Look how much fun they were having!

Jason from Chase Bank returned one week later to teach the weekend students how to make financial decisions that help maintain good credit. Our students did not give up and did their best to ask difficult questions about credit even though speaking about finances in English was a challenge!

Welcome Weekend Students! Last Saturday, we kicked off our 2023-2024 school year with our weekend classes. Very excited to see new and familiar faces arriving at our school! Students attended orientation first and continued with their first class afterward. We wish our weekend students an awesome year!

Our daytime and evening classes celebrated not one, but TWO graduation parties last Thursday, 6/22/2023. In the daytime, we congratulated Scott’s College and Career Readiness students in CCR-A and CCR-P classes. In the evening, we bid our fond farewells and best wishes to Sara’s Class E4 students on the bright future ahead. Enjoy these photos from the festivities from both the Daytime and Evening Parties.

Our E2, E3, W2, and W3 students learned effective reading strategies to use at home with children from a children’s librarian from Seward Park Library. She taught how to read to children by demonstrating some interesting ways using a musical egg shaker and a puppet. Even some skeptical students at the beginning became absorbed in her demonstration smiling and singing as she proceeded with reading a story. Some parent students filmed the demonstration for their reference. We hope our students will have a happy family bonding time reading books together!
